Over a 10 year period, Dominic Milton Trott self-administered 157 psychoactive drugs and documented his experiences on each one. He then created the book, The Drug User’s Bible, to inform curious minds about safe drug use.

With steadily increasing rates of both illicit drug use and overdose deaths, one can easily argue that the country is losing the War on Drugs. And making matters worse is the fact that illicit drug research is incredibly scarce, due to the legal difficulty of obtaining substances.

In Trott’s opinion, overdose deaths occur primarily because people lack access to information on safe drug use. So with a focus on harm reduction and risk mitigation, his book documents things like onset time, dosing, and the duration of effects.

Les cotons-tiges, bien qu’ils soient couramment utilisés pour nettoyer les oreilles, peuvent être nocifs s’ils ne sont pas utilisés correctement. Voici comment ils peuvent endommager les oreilles :

1. Impact sur le conduit auditif : L’utilisation incorrecte des cotons-tiges peut pousser la cire d’oreille plus loin dans le conduit auditif au lieu de l’extraire. Cela peut entraîner une accumulation de cérumen, obstruant le conduit auditif et provoquant une sensation de plénitude, une perte auditive temporaire ou des étourdissements.

2. Blessures : Insérer un coton-tige trop profondément dans l’oreille peut causer des blessures, telles que des égratignures, des abrasions ou même des perforations du tympan. Le tympan est une structure délicate, et toute blessure peut entraîner des problèmes auditifs et des infections.

3. Irritations : Frotter la peau délicate du conduit auditif avec un coton-tige peut provoquer des irritations. Cela peut créer un environnement propice aux infections, en particulier si la barrière naturelle de la cire d’oreille est endommagée.

Symptômes possibles : Les symptômes associés à une utilisation inappropriée des cotons-tiges peuvent inclure une sensation de plénitude dans l’oreille, une diminution de l’ouïe, des douleurs, des vertiges et des infections de l’oreille.

Persian Painting; Observation of Iranian Life
Persian painting is an observation of Persian life; and Persian life is an existence fraught with consistent renewal and continual reversion to traditionalism. In recent years, Iran’s contemporary arts scene has experienced a variety of visual experiments, themselves a product of the transience of existing in a society following the Iran-Iraq war. The works of Iranian artists seen in this gallery, are not only a demonstration of a diverse range of artistic techniques but instead narrate a wide range of ideas and stories via which one can understand the lives of those living in Iran.
In fact, it should be considered the plethora of different ideas themselves a representation of daily life, in a country like Iran, have contributed to an arts landscape that is inherently diverse. This in itself is a key point for understanding the wider concept of Persian art and the prism through which, the history of social development in Iran, over the past 50 years, should be considered. What can be seen in works from Iran after the Iran-Iraq war, is a deep desire for Persian artists to portray both their joys and pains and the simple pleasure of watching life. A Persian artist strives continually in the search for his/her roots and origins, in the pursuit of novelty whilst seeking modernity and contemporaneity. The art of Persian painting is therefore predominantly a combination of the exploration of one’s ancient Persian roots whilst considering modernity and a history of the future. This combination can be found in the importance of identifying visual symbols and shaping motifs in herbal, animal, mythological and calligraphic forms. The continuity of literature, poetry, folklore and mythical figures in art is a longstanding tradition; deeply rooted in the history of Persian painting. Thus, contemporary Persian painting, in maintaining its visual history carries within it an inherent connection to literature and poetry via which it seeks to rebuild Persian history and culture. Consequently, Persian paintings are full of a deeper meaning that lies beyond merely colour, pattern and design.
Persian contemporary art is hence a representation of the emotion of human situations whilst maintaining a reflection of the artist’s feelings and thoughts. This emotion and tenderness can be seen as a representation of human perspective shaped and transferred to the audience.
